Whether youy’re a pub lover, cocktail queen, or nightclub fan, if you enjoy a drink or two then London is the place you have been looking for! There’s a real drinking in London culture, so you can pretty much party every day of the week if you want to! And the great thing is there’s asuch a high quality of drinking establishments to check out – you’ll never run out of options!
Here my picks of the best places for drinking in London.
Lowlander, Covent Garden – A Belgian pub in the heart of the West End, this is a great meeting place on a Friday night for end of week drinks and food. They have an impressive selection of beers, so try the tasting stick, and don’t leave without trying their chips and mayo – you wont stop at one!
Tooting Tram And Social, Tooting – Housed in an old tram shed, this architectural wonder has been converted into a beautifully open and airy pub. Lots of huge couches to sink into and lots of things to look at, the perfect place for Sunday drinks on a cold winters weekend.
Three Blind Mice, Shoreditch – This place claims to be one of the smallest pubs in the UK, and you’ll see why if you visit! It’s tiny alright – but being in Shoreditch it’s the place to be seen, so just get there early to bag a seat!
The Old Ship, Hammersmith – Perfect for sipping Pimms on a balmy summer evening, this popular spot on the Thames on Hammersmith is one of my favorite places to hang out when the mercury rises.
White Horse, Parsons Green – Regularly listed on the Best Pubs in London list, this west London spot has a huge beer garden looking over Parsons Green, so in the summer months is a great place for afternoon drinks with your friends.
Slug And Lettuce, Various – A known hangout for Antipodeans this pub chain is never going to win awards for the best pub, but if you’re looking for an affordable day out drinking with friends, then this is the place to do it – my favorite is the Leicester Square branch.
Blue Bar, Knightsbridge – Stunning is the only word I could use to describe this bar inside The Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge. With an entirely blue decor, this is style personified, and the cocktails – perfection. You’ll pay for it though – expect to pay upwards of £10 for a drink, but in my opinion, it’s well worth it.
Kensington Wine Rooms, Kensington – Serving a large selection of top notch wines by the lgass, this is a wine merchant, bar and restaurant all in one. Perfect for a first date!
Academy, Soho – Listed on Time Out London’s best cocktail bar list, this is a great little bar in the middle of Soho, and although the drinks are some of the best in the city, you won’t pay over £7.50 per drink, with the exception of their signature drink the ‘Porn Star’ – which has to be tried at least once!
Purl, Marylebone – Decorated like a Prohibition-era speakeasy, this cocktail bar specialises in the unusual – drinks served in medicine bottles and others doused in liquid nitrogen…not for the faint hearted!
Lost Society, Clapham – A neighbourhood bar serving some great cocktails, and with a leafy beer garden to enjoy them in. Great for lazy summer days with a Mojito in hand.
Experimental Cocktail Club, Soho – This is the second branch of the original ECC bar in Paris, and located in the middle of Chinatown, you’d never know it’s there! It’s extremely popular due to it’s fun and tasty drinks, so make sure you book ahead.
Be At One, Various – If it’s bargain cocktails and a great atmosphere you’re after, then you can’t go past Be At One. They have 2 for 1 specials every day of the week, and the bar staff are fun and never fail to get the party started.
